Stop and smell the roses (idiomatic): To relax; to take time out of one's busy schedule to enjoy or appreciate the beauty of life.
Hey guys, hope you’ve all had a fantastic week and are looking forward to the weekend! I spent a few days in London during the week and let me tell you, it’s been a while since I just let myself think of nothing else except what was in front of me. The thing about me is, I have a really bad habit of thinking at least a few weeks ahead and sometimes worrying about things before those things even know they exist in my mind! You get what I mean, right? It‘s a habit I try really hard to break and most days, like the days I spent in London, I succeed. My whole philosophy was to enjoy myself and make sure others were too! Here are a few things that helped me stay in the present:
Find others who like to stay in the present: if you’ve read my previous post, It Takes Two, you’ll see why it helps to have a little help. Much easier to have someone who shares the same goal and help keep you in the moment.
Be determined: I made up my mind to enjoy myself and most of that happened because I willed it to 😁
Think positive: when you (and others around you) turn your mind to positive things, things naturally turn more positive.
The sun ☀️ helps: if you live in the UK like I do, you know how much the weather can affect your mood. With the sun out during the week, it was warmer, brighter and altogether just lovely!

Enjoy this photo I took to capture my moment of stopping to smell the roses!
